03 · HOW WE SPEAK

The intelligent voice.

XS sounds like the sharpest analyst on your team: calm, specific, always a step ahead. It answers before you ask, shows the mechanism, and never raises its voice to be believed.

3.1

Voice

Write as though you are briefing a principal who has ten minutes. Lead with the point. Name the mechanism. Use their words (deal, thesis, hold, exit).

Intelligent

Good writing is as little writing as possible. We say the thing once, in the reader's own words, and let the argument stand without decoration.

Helpful

Every sentence does something for the reader: answers the question, names the next move, removes work. Nothing is there to impress.

Specific

Pricing, working capital, performance — named, measured, attributable. A claim without a mechanism is not a claim we make.

Communication pillars

01 · FIND THE DEAL

From your thesis to the right deal, with conviction.

  • Sector mapping, screening and diligence at the depth of a full deal team.
  • Scored against your criteria, not a generic framework.
  • The evidence behind every call, including the call to pass.

02 · SEE EVERYTHING

Every company you own, live from the day the deal closes.

  • Transaction-level data straight from each company's own systems.
  • Pricing, working capital and performance in one view.
  • Answers ready before the board meeting asks.

03 · MOVE THE NUMBER

Operational alpha with a named cause.

  • XS finds the levers: pricing, working capital, performance.
  • Operating professionals included, to execute the fix with you.
  • Results you can attribute: found, approved, delivered.

04 · BUILD ON IT

Gets sharper with every deal.

  • Your criteria, your outcomes and your data stay in the firm.
  • Every deal makes the next one sharper, instead of starting from zero.
  • One data spine, across origination and the hold.

05 · REPORT ON IT

Capital partners see what you see.

  • Reporting straight from live numbers, not month-old spreadsheets.
  • Every improvement attributable: found, approved, delivered.
  • Support through the raise, deal by deal.

Message rules

Six rules, each with the rewrite. They are not stylistic preferences — breaking them changes what we are claiming.

A product, never a service.

The people are a feature of the system. Service language moves us into a category we are not in, and a price bracket our buyer cannot pay.

NOT THIS

Our advisory team partners with you to unlock value.

THIS

XS includes the operating professionals who execute the fix with you.

Operational alpha always travels with attribution.

Alone it promises returns. Qualified, it claims a mechanism.

NOT THIS

XS delivers operational alpha.

THIS

XS delivers operational alpha with a named cause.

The gap is stated as fact, never as failure.

Our reader is running a firm well with what they have. We describe what large funds built, not what our reader lacks.

NOT THIS

You don't have the data function a real fund has.

THIS

The capability large funds build in-house, delivered as a product.

No blindness or lateness framing in headlines.

That story belongs to someone else, and it insults the reader. Express the same pain through the positive.

NOT THIS

Stop finding out about problems six months too late.

THIS

Every company you own, live from the day the deal closes.

No technology language.

This market has learned to distrust demos. The engine stays invisible.

NOT THIS

An AI-powered agentic platform for portfolio intelligence.

THIS

Transaction-level data from each company's own systems, live.

Headlines speak the buyer's dialect.

Then the first paragraph beneath says 'private equity' in full, so a cold reader is caught within one line.

NOT THIS

Better outcomes for alternative asset managers.

THIS

From your thesis to the right deal, with conviction.

3.5

Naming

One brand, described products. Nobody should have to learn a new word to understand what something does.

XSMASTERBRAND
XS OriginationPRODUCT
XS PortfolioPRODUCT
XS ReportingPRODUCT

Functional names describe structure, not process, so they imply full coverage without claiming we do everything. Every future function arrives pre-named, and all equity accumulates in one place.

No invented product names.

At launch the brand has no equity to spend. An invented name forces the reader to learn two new words to understand one product.
